Promoting Literacy with CIIT-NSTP🤝

During the Academic Year 2025-2026, NSTP-LTS (National Service Training Program - Literacy Training Service Track) students of CIIT College of Arts and Technology partnered with Create Foundation for their NSTP Final Project. 

Their project aims to raise funds for Project CLIMB (Create Learning In Mountain Barangays), an initiative under our Create Library program which distributes literacy and numeracy materials to remote upland communities. Additionally, the NSTP-LTS class also hopes to create computer literacy modules and awareness materials for the foundation.

Following a brief introduction to the foundation’s mission, vision, and programs on July 21, 2025, the NSTP-LTS class officially commenced their operations. To kick off their fundraising efforts, the class organized a two-week Maid Café. Despite torrential rains that disrupted their activities, the class successfully raised ₱3,000 which they donated in full to Project CLIMB!

In parallel, the learning materials team developed a three-chapter computer literacy resource, featuring written modules and animated tutorials. While the marketing team launched an advocacy video campaign to raise awareness about the lack of internet access and computer ownership in the Philippines, while promoting digital inclusion and reinforcing the vision of Create Foundation.

The partnership with the students aims to deepen their civic consciousness and foster meaningful engagement in community-based initiatives that showcase their talents and potential as learners from CIIT College of Arts and Technology. Reflecting on the experience, NSTP-LTS student Earoy Gabol described the collaboration with Create Foundation as “fun and challenging,” adding, “It made me realize that I can make an impact in my own way.”

Building on the success of this initial collaboration, Create Foundation is committed to continuing its partnership with CIIT’s NSTP-LTS students in the coming academic terms. Future projects will further expand the reach of Create Library, enhance digital literacy efforts, and empower more communities through creative, student-led solutions.
