In most communities and organizations, there is a silent yet crucial force ensuring that work toward a cause is accomplished and resources are maximized. On December 5, we honor these silent supporters who strengthen the backbone of every advocacy — our volunteers.
This 2025, the United Nations declared “Every Contribution Matters” as the theme for International Volunteer Day. On this day, they also launched a resolution proclaiming 2026 as the International Volunteer Year for Sustainable Development. The resolution aims to amplify the global movement recognizing the vital role of volunteers in accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

At Create Foundation, our volunteers are vital team members that have given their time and talents to support our projects. One of our projects that is well-supported by these volunteers is the Create Hub-HOH — a space designed to bring digital inclusion to Abandoned, Neglected, and Orphaned Youths (ANOCs) in Bacolod City. As we join the global community in celebration, we highlight the contributions of our volunteers to the development of Create Hub-HOH.

Jelisa Requilme, an architect, was inspired to volunteer after learning more about the foundation’s mission. She assisted in conceptualizing plans for the hub and provided consultations on materials, design, and key decisions throughout its development. “It makes me happy to be part of something good, especially with what is happening around us,” she shares. For Jelisa, this was her first time volunteering as an architect, and she hopes the hub will spark excitement for learning among the children of Home of Hope.

Olivia Ledesma, a former Multimedia Arts – Graphic Design major at CIIT College
of Arts and Technology, first encountered Create Foundation during her studies. Initially recommended as her internship site, she chose instead to volunteer, motivated by a desire to use her artistic skills to support a community. As the volunteer 3D artist, Olivia created the interior layout and video walkthroughs of Create Hub-HOH — visuals that helped showcase the foundation’s vision. “It showed me how meaningful it is to use my skills and support a purpose beyond myself,” she reflects. She hopes her work inspires children to be creative, curious, and confident in their community.

Isabel Nacionales, an agriculture undergraduate at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, serves as the volunteer muralist for Create Hub-HOH. She aims to design a mural that reflects both Negros heritage and the foundation’s advocacy. Isabel saw the project as a chance to unite her love for art with her desire to serve others. “Creating a mural for the foundation allows me to express myself while contributing to a space that will bring comfort, joy, and hope to the children,” she explains. Volunteering broadened her perspective, teaching her to share her gifts in meaningful ways. She hopes the mural, which is to be completed in 2026, will remind the children that they are free to dream, play, and feel safe.
Thanks to the dedication and continued support of these volunteers, Create Hub-HOH was completed and officially launched on November 7, 2025.
As the world celebrates volunteers this December, Create Foundation recognizes these individuals whose talents have strengthened our mission. Their stories embody the global theme: Every Contribution Matters.
