Roseshel, 17, dreams of becoming many things—a veterinarian, a journalist, but most of all, a teacher. She is currently a senior high school student taking the HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) strand, and is expected to graduate with a strong academic record in March 2026. She hopes to be admitted to an education program at a state university located 60 kilometers from home.

Life has been challenging for Roseshel and her younger brother, Mito. She was only seven when her parents separated, and shortly afterward, each began building their own second families. The siblings were raised by their grandparents. At twelve, Roseshel began working part-time—including doing domestic work—to help support herself and Mito.
In her schoolwork, Roseshel mostly relies on a second-hand phone given to her by her father a few years ago. Without a computer, she learned to type papers and print them directly from her phone. She knows how to use a computer, having taken four computer classes in the past, and uses one in her school’s computer room whenever she gets the chance. She would perform much better in school with access to a personal computer and an internet subsidy.
A Coin Grant from the Create Foundation would help ensure that Roseshel finishes high school successfully and has a critical tool ready when she enters college.
The Computer and Internet (Coin) Grant—a key initiative under our Create ASPIRE program—is designed for students, home-based workers, and community leaders.
