From Coin Grant to College: Roseshel's Journey into Tech

Roseshel, now 18, was only seven years old when her parents separated and each went on to build their own families. She and her younger brother, Mito, were raised by their grandparents — a home built on love and sacrifice, if not on abundance.

Growing up, she carried one dream close to her heart: to become a teacher someday. But life, as it often does, had something more in store.

Last October 2025, Roseshel was a senior high school student under the HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) strand when she received a Coin Grant from Create Foundation. The grant allowed her to secure a personal laptop and a one-year internet subsidy — tools that would carry her through the remaining months of her senior high school days and open doors she had not yet imagined.

As the grant expanded her horizons and broadened the options before her, Roseshel found herself setting her sights on something new. The world of technology began calling, and she answered. She took and passed the admissions test of Central Philippine State University (CPSU) and was found eligible for the IT program — a path she is now walking with confidence and clear determination.

In 2026, Roseshel graduated from senior high school and enrolled in college. A consistent honors student throughout her high school years, she carries that same dedication with her as she steps into this new chapter — this time as a student of technology, and one day, as a professional in the field.

Being enrolled in a tech-based course now makes Roseshel eligible for a College Scholarship Grant from Create Foundation. With this new support, she will be able to pursue her college education comfortably, even as she studies kilometers away from home.

Create Foundation looks forward to seeing Roseshel pave the way for her peers — proving that for young women in tech, there are no limits to how far determination and the right support can take you.

Our College Scholarship Grant is for students in tech-based courses to help ensure that we’re building the next tech generation, and that part of that generation are students from low income families who have the potential to thrive in tech but need school funding to earn tech degrees. There are many students like John Lloyd. With your support, we can break barriers, fund education, and build the next tech generation.
