CREATE HUB-HOH IS NOW OPERATIONAL!

After months of developing and furnishing the space, our Create Hub at Home of Hope, Inc. in Bacolod City is finally ready for use!

On February 26, our Partnerships and Projects Officer, HP, traveled by boat from Manila to Bacolod, bringing with her the computers donated by CIIT College of Arts and Technology. She arrived just in time to prepare the units for our program implementation.

On March 2, 2026, Create Hub-HOH officially opened its doors — and the tech space was fully ready for its first-time computer users. Thirty-two children, plus four recent additions to the Home of Hope (HOH) Orphanage in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, can now access our Create Hub. The hub is open from 9 AM to 4 PM every day except Sundays.

Create Hub has three program components: Technology (Tech), ICT Courses, and Arts — and Create Hub-HOH provides dedicated spaces for all three. The Tech Space is now equipped with four computers donated by CIIT College of Arts and Technology. We especially noted the delight among our Create Hub-HOH users as they used a mouse for the very first time, discovering that their clicks could translate into a line or a letter on the screen.

Each hub user is scheduled for the following:

• Tech & ICT Course: At least 5 hours of tech use + 2 hours of ICT course per week.

• Arts: At least 5 hours of arts space use per week + 2 hours of facilitated arts session per month.

The dedicated Arts Space is where we will implement Hope BUDS (Build, Draw, and Solve), the arts component of our Create Hub program. Children will follow a daily schedule for using the Arts Space. We have also partnered with a local arts organization, Amat-Amat, to provide facilitated arts sessions twice a month.

On the other hand, our Partnerships and Projects Officer, HP, will facilitate a four-Saturday ICT course on Digital Literacy and Safer Internet for Children. By the end of the month, the older children at the hub will have received their first Create Hub ICT course certificate.

Create Hub-HOH is just getting started — and we can't wait to see what these children will build, draw, and discover next inside the hub!
